Sale 1988

I found a buyer for our home place, negotiated a sales contract, sent the sales contract to Edward White and asked him if he would handle the settlement. The contract states that the "Seller" is one legal entity and Anthony O'Connell is the point of contact for the "Seller".

I never heard from Edward White. After the buyer told me the settlement date, I drove from Saint Louis, Missouri, to Edward White's office in Alexandria, Virginia, to find out what was going on. I arrived there the day before settlement and was blind sided with surprises. Edward White told me that if I did not sign the settlement documents as he wrote them he would tell Jean O'Connell that I was blocking the sale. A justification was not even pretended. I signed the settlement documents as he wrote them.
